The Queen's Court, part of the museum's "Apple Capital of the World" exhibit, is adorned with photographs of Apple Blossom Festival Royalty from every year of the Festival...1920 through 2010. The exhibit as a whole celebrates the history of the apple industry in North Central Washington and its importance to the regional economy. The Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center is open year-round Tuesday through Saturday, 10am - 4pm.
 
 
Andrew York Rodeo Assn. – Rubber Ducky Raffle

This event is held to benefit the Andrew York Lineman Memorial Fund which provides scholarships to high school seniors who have been active in the community, specifically in drug and alcohol prevention. 4,000 ducks will be launched into Walla Walla Point Park’s northwest inlet area at the wooden bridge. The dash course is approximately 1000 feet in length. Odds of winning are 1 in 400. 10 prizes including a 2009 Honda Ruckus Scooter courtesy of Wenatchee Honda, Overnight getaway at Campbell’s Resort on Lake Chelan, fly fishing trips, Seattle Mariners tickets, and much more.
 
Rocky Reach Hydro Project

The Wenatchee Valley is blessed with natural resources including the Columbia River, which provides affordable and renewable hydroelectric power for the people who live here and for visitors. A day trip to the Rocky Reach Hydro Project is fun and informative. Self-guided tours of the powerhouse include historical exhibits in the Museum of the Columbia and displays that explain how the hydroelectric power is generated. There is also an opportunity to see the giant turbine-generators at work from a walkway high above the powerhouse floor. Colorful signs explain the PUD’s innovative fish bypass system which provides young salmon and steelhead a trip around the dam in a water-filled pipe nearly a mile long. Outdoors, there are 18 acres of landscaped grounds with shady spots for picnicking, sunny lawns and a children’s playground. The Rocky Reach Visitor Center is open daily, including weekends. For more information, call Debbie Gallaher at the Chelan County PUD at (509) 661-4960.
 
 
“River Scenes”; A Salute to the Pioneers of the Wenatchee Valley

This year The Sportsplex and TrinityInflatables.com join forces to bring to you JumpFest, an exciting fun-filled event for the young and young at heart.  JumpFest will be a two-day warm up event to this year's Apple Blossom Festial.  Don't miss this high energy, action packed day.  There will be activities for all ages including the Adrenaline Rush, Tiger Belly Bounder, Rock Band on a 12 ft. inflatable screen, balloon art by Abigail the Clown (Sunday 2-5pm) and more.  Concessions open during event hours. Saturday is broken up into 2-hour sessions:  1-3pm, 3-5pm, and 5-7pm.

The Columbia Chorale presents “Songs from the Americas!”

35th Annual Apple Blossom Square Dance

The 35th Annual Apple Blossom Square Dance Weekend will transform Cashmere’s Vale Elementary School Gym into action April 30, and May 1-2. The Appleland Promenaders, one of the oldest clubs in the state, extend a hearty welcome to all “plus level” square dancers and spectators. Come enjoy the toe-tapping music and singing of the featured caller, Deborah Carroll-Jones from Arlington, TX. Deborah has been a fulltime caller since 1984. She has been a featured caller at many Square Dance Festivals nation-wide. Debbie Taylor, from Cle Elum, WA, will cue the round dancing. Debbie conducts workshops and has been featured at festivals and weekends. Visitors may enjoy the workshops Saturday morning and afternoon, as well as the colorful dances on Friday and Saturday evenings, plus a more casual dance on Sunday morning. The Appleland Promenaders dance regularly the first Friday and second and fourth Saturdays each month at the East Wenatchee Grange Hall. They sponsor classes for new square and round dancers. Guests and spectators are welcome at all events. For more information, contact Bob or Connie Mulholland at 509.881.4961.

The Apple Blossom Run starts prior to the Grand Parade on Saturday, May 1, at 9:50 am. Runners have a choice of four events: 1 Mile Kids Run for grades 1-8; 5K Run, 10K Run and 5K Walk. All events start at the Apple Bowl and follow the parade route down Orondo Street and Wenatchee Avenue. The 5K and 10K events cross the pedestrian bridge on First Street and continue north along the riverfront. The Kids Run finishes in front of the Convention Center on Wenatchee Ave. and the longer events finish at the Linden Tree area at the foot of 9th St. Race day registration starts at 8:00 am at the Apple Bowl. The Kids Run is free of charge. Registration for the 5K and 10K events is $12 if pre-registered and $15 on race day. All participants receive an Apple Blossom Run T-shirt. Runners can pre-register in person on Friday, April 30, 8 am-8 pm at Wenatchee Valley Medical Center, 820 N Chelan Ave. 2010 Apple Blossom Run sponsors are Wenatchee Valley Medical Center and Ballard Ambulance. Come join the fun!    For more information, contact Nancy Gifford at Wenatchee Valley Medical Center – (509) 663-8711, ext. 5484.

The cannon sounds promptly at 11:00 am onSaturday, May 1 to announce the Stemilt Growers 91st Washington State Apple Blossom Festival Grand Parade. Leading off the parade is the traditional Apple Blossom Run, as well as the daredevil maneuvers of the Seattle Motorcycle Police Drill Team and Bag Pipers. Bands from throughout the Northwest join with the many colorful floats and proud-stepping equestrian units to make this one of Washington’s grandest parades. Dignitaries from many of Northwest Festivals, as well as local and state legislators join in to enjoy the Greater Wenatchee Valley at springtime. Wenatchee Valley Antique Car Club Display

Most of the antique automobiles carrying dignitaries in the Grand Parade will be on display in the parking lot of the Museum right after the parade. Vintage cars including Model T’s from 1912-1927, Model A’s from 1929-1932, Willis Overlands and miscellaneous classic cars on up to ’55 Chevys and a ’56 Ford Fairlane hard top convertible may be seen, and their owners (members of a club that just celebrated it’s 50th anniversary) are always happy to talk about them.

Apple Blossom Book Sale

Apple Blossom Radio Control Airplane Fly-in

Time:                   9am-4pm – Free Event
This annual event features aircraft of all shapes and sizes from the early days of aviation to modern day turbine powered aircraft and from electric & glo-fuel powered to the large gas & kerosene powered models. The aircraft include military, civilian, and historic aircraft throughout aviation history. Also featured will be a scale model of The Miss Veedol with commentary of her historic Trans-Pacific flight. Great family fun for the aviation enthusiasts at no cost to the public. Hosted by the Wenatchee Red Apple Flyers R/C Club. Contact Gene Stone, (509) 884-9153 or president@redappleflyers.org for more information.

Stemilt Growers Ultimate Apple Pie & Dessert Bake-Off

Do you or anyone you know make the "ultimate" Apple Pie or Dessert? The Apple Blossom Festival is seeking entries for the Stemilt Growers Ultimate Apple Pie & Dessert Bake-off. Pies & Desserts will be accepted on Sunday, May 2 from 10am – 11am at the Festival Office. Cash prizes for the top 3 pies and top 3 desserts will be awarded. Costco Apple Pie Eating Contest

Location:    Verizon Wireless Entertainment Stage in Memorial Park
The pie eating contest will have two age divisions; 8-12 and 13-17 with a boys and girls category in each. Prize money, up to $100, will go to the winner in each age division. Entry forms are available at the festival office or visit www.appleblossom.org.   First 8 qualifying applications are entered. If categories are not full on event day, we will accept on-site registration. Must have parent signature.

The five-team Robertson Cup Championship crowns the NAHL's playoff champion. All Wild games will be ticketed at the regular game price and will be available by phone, on-line, through the Wenatchee Valley Mall Outlet and at the TTC Box Office. Non-Wild game tickets will be available at the box office the day of game. All Wild games and the Championship will be reserved seating. All non-Wild games will be General Admission.
