Directors

Debbie Gurnard - DIRECTOR GENERAL

Debbie is the General Manager of Eagle Transfer Company in Wenatchee.  She has volunteered for the Festival for 25 years working on the Youth Parade, Float, Booster Pins, Arts & Crafts, Carnival, Pie & Dessert Bakeoff, Art 4 Kidz, Pageant, and Jr. Royalty committees.  She is also an active member of the Wenatchee Central Lions Club and on the NCW Foundation for Youth Board.  Debbie has two children and five grandchildren.  She and her husband, Don, have been members of the Wenatchee Applarians since 1990 and Don was Director General in 2005 and Applarian Chancellor in 2010.  They live in Wenatchee.

Mark Lewis - Asst. Director General

Mark is the owner of Columbia Pet Service in Wenatchee.  Mark has volunteered for the Festival for over 30 years on various committees and has previously served a term on the Board.  He helped build the first stage for Entertainment in the Park and is the "go-to" guy for the girls in the office.  Mark and his wife Kathy Fortner have been members of the Wenatchee Applarians since 1989 and he served as "The Amazing Mark" in 2013 when Kathy was the Applarian Chancellor.

Amber bollinger

Amber is a Customer Service Rep for the Douglas County PUD.  Amber has been involved with the Festival since 2006 when she joined the Wenatchee Central Lions Club.  She has been a part of the Pageant committee since 2006 and was the Pageant Emcee in 2013 and 2014.

deanna bollinger - Auction & 100th Festival

Deanna is the owner of Nancy's Party Rentals and began volunteering with the Festival in 1992 when she started selling Festival t-shirts to all the local banks for "Festival Fridays".  Since then, she has been a Director for the Pageant, Chairperson for the Auction, and volunteering on the Youth Day, Youth Parade, Grand Parade, Beer Garden, Art 4 Kidz, and Golf Tournament.  She is also the "Queen of Logistics" for Memorial Park.  She graduated from Central Washington University with a BA in Public Relations.  Deanna loves to bring fluff and foof to all our events and always does a great job!!!  She has two daughters and lives in East Wenatchee.

Craig Field - Auction Co-Chair

Craig is an agent/broker at Mitchell, Reed & Schmitten Insurance.  Craig has been involved with the Festival since 2007.  He was Pageant Emcee in 2008 & 2009 and has continued to be a part of the Pageant Crew ever since.  He has also served on the Blossoms & Brews committee and has been a Parade Marshal for many years. This year, he is in charge of Parade Marshals for the Grand Parade.  Craig is a past vice president and an active member of the Wenatchee Central Lions Club and he is also a member of the Wenatchee Golf & Country Club.  Craig is a die-hard Coug and graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Risk Management and Insurance.  He and his wife Trisha live in East Wenatchee and have two children.

nannette fishbourne

Nannette is new to the Board this year but has been volunteering for the Festival for over 15 years as a Parade Marshal for both the Youth and Grand Parades.  Most recently she organizes the banners & awards for the Grand Parade and loves it!!  Nannette is retired from her job in Inventory Control for Safeway, where she worked for 36 years.  For 35 years, Nannette has volunteered as a Fitness Instructor for the YMCA. She and her husband, Bill,  have one son and one granddaughter and live in Wenatchee,

Rob Foxx

Rob is the Store Director for the Wenatchee Haggen’s Food and Pharmacy store. He has been involved with the Festival since 2009, working in and providing breakfast items for the Hospitality Tent at the Grand Parade and providing lunch for the Applarian’s luncheon and donations to the Festival’s silent auction for fundraising. He will also sponsor the Pie Eating Contest held at the park on Youth Day each year with Haggen’s. Rob is involved in Boy Scouts and helps with the WHS Deca program. Rob and his wife, Cobi, have two children and live here in Wenatchee.

anthony mccarty - merchandise

Anthony is the Director of Sales for the Town Toyota Center.  He is a graduate of Eastern Washington University with a degree in Business & Marketing.  Anthony is the President of the Wenatchee Valley Sports Foundation and an active member of the Wenatchee Central Lions Club.  Anthony was the Pageant emcee in 2014 & 2015.  He and his wife, Megan, are expecting their first child this fall.

danielle ringler mckee - 100th festival

Danielle recently moved back to the Wenatchee area after working in the hospitality industry in Seattle.  She is currently the Director of Sales & Marketing for the Icicle Village Resort in Leavenworth.  Danielle graduated from Eastern Washington University and volunteered with the Festival in 2005-2008 on the Auction committee.  She and her husband live in Wenatchee with their two children.

Amber O'Dell - Booster Pins

Amber began her involvement with Apple Blossom in 2010 on the Prime Parade Seating Committee.  She as a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Business Management from Washington State University.  She is a member of the Wenatchee Valley Cougar Club and helps to plan parties & local WSU Athletic Fund events.  She is the Sales Manager for the Wenatchee Convention Center.  She and her husband Scott live in East Wenatchee and have a cat named Flo.

steve soth - applarian chancellor

Steve is the Chancellor of the Wenatchee Applarians.  He and his wife, Lady Rene have been members of the Applarians since 1991.  Rene was also the Royalty Chaperone in 2012-2014.  Steve has a BSN in Nursing from Washington State University.  Together, Steve & Rene have 5 children and 12 grandchildren and live in East Wenatchee.

Curt Ulrich - Pie Eating Contest

Curt UlrichCurt's involvement with the Apple Blossom Festival began in 2005 when he co-chaired the 1st annual Apple Pie Eating Contest. This year, he is again co-chairing that event. He earned his B.S. in Business from Central Washington University and is a District Compliance Manager with the Washington State Department of Revenue. Curt and his wife Cindy reside in Wenatchee with their 2 children.

Ceci Wood

Ceci is the Coordinator of Volunteer Services at Confluence Health.  She received her AA from Lower Columbia College.  Ceci and her husband, Greg, have been members of the Wenatchee Applarians since 2006 and both have been very involved in the Festival for a number of years and she will serve on the Mobile Meals Board through 2016.  Ceci and her husband Greg have three children and two grandchildren and live in East Wenatchee.

Alisa Allen - Prime Parade Seating

Alisa Allen

Alisa has been involved with the Apple Blossom Festival since 1992.  She has been a Youth Parade Marshal since that time, has helped out with various other events, and is currently on the Auction Committee.  She is also on the East Wenatchee Events Board and volunteers for the United Way and Columbia Elementary School.  Alisa has an AA Degree from Wenatchee Valley College and a BS in Accounting from Central Washington University.  In her spare time, Alisa enjoys family time with her husband Bo and their three children, Hockey, and BBQ-ing/entertaining in their back yard.

Char Allen - Apple Pie & Dessert Bake-Off

Char AllenChar has been involved with the Festival since her 2 years as a Royalty Chaperone in 2001 & 2002; helping and volunteering at various events and co-chairing the very successful Cookbook fundraiser. This year, she is again co-chairing the Apple Pie Bake-Off & Cookbook. She & her husband John reside in East Wenatchee and have 3 grown children.

Jeremy Anders- Booster Pins

Jeremy began volunteering for the Festival in 2008 and has worked on the Youth Parade & Grand Parade committees.  He is also a member of the Pageant Crew through his membership with the Wenatchee Central Lions Club and served as Pageant Emcee in 2012. Additionally, Jeremy volunteers with other "Darci Duties as Assigned" throughout the year.  Jeremy work in Marketing for the Wenatchee  Valley Super Oval and coaches Eastmont High School Girls Bowling. He is also a member of the Wenatchee Valley US Bowling Congress.  He and his wife, Shana, live in Wenatchee.

jerry anderson - all service club luncheon

Jerry has been involved with the Apple Blossom Festival for over 35 years.  He works in sales for Graybeal Signs and is a member of the Wenatchee Central Lions Club.  Jerry holds a BA degree from Eastern Washington University.  He and his wife, Sandi, have 13 grandchildren.

Kelly Atwood - Arts & Crafts Fair

Kelly has been involved with the Festival for over15 years, serving on the Youth Day, Entertainment, and Pageant committee.  She has been chairing the Arts & Crafts Fair for over10 years.  The Atwood Family has been a part of so many facets of the Festival from performing at Entertainment in the Park and on the Pageant stage to competing against each other in the Pie Eating Contest.  Kelly is the payroll manager for Atwood Orchards and is also employed at Material Things specializing in Sales, Design & Fabrication.  Kelly is also actively involved with the Wenatchee Schools All-District Musical and is the director of Short Shakespeareans.  She and Paul have three children and live in Wenatchee.

Kate Bratrude - 2nd Year royalty Chaperone

Kate is excited for her first year of involvement with the Apple Blossom Festival as one of the Royalty Chaperones.  She graduated from Creighton University in 1980 with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing .  She is a member of the Washington State University Master Gardners of Chelan County organization.  Kate and her husband Bruce have two children and live in Wenatchee.

Chris Ewer - Entertainment

Chris is the Equipment Finance Manager for Cashmere Valley Bank.  He received his B.S.B.A. in Management & Organization from Central Washington University.  Chris has been involved with the Festival for the Festival since 2010 helping with the Pepsi Cola Youth Day and the Keyes Fibre Youth Parade.  This year he will co-chair the Entertainment Committee.  Chris and his wife Chelsea live in Wenatchee.

Sally Feil - Apple Pie & Dessert Bake-Off/Visiting Royalty

Salley FeilSally has been involved in the Festival since 2000, when she served as the Royalty Chaperone for 2000 & 2001 and was also involved in the cookbook fundraiser.  Sally serves on the Apple Pie Bake-off and Visiting Royalty Committees.  She and her husband, Dan are involved in running Bob Feil Boats & Motors in East Wenatchee and together they participate in East Wenatchee Rotary.  She enjoys gardening in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.

Daryl Ferguson - Grand Parade

Daryl has been with the Festival for 15+ years, most recently serving as Director General of the 2013 Festival.  He has also served on various committees like Jewelry, Merchandise, Pre-Parade, and the Grand Parade. He has been a Festival Board Member for 2 different terms.  Daryl's daughter, Lauren, was Princess in 2010.  He is the Vice President and Insurance Broker for Wells Fargo Insurance Services; he is also an active member of the Wenatchee Rotary and the Wenatchee Golf & Country Club.

Linda Haglund - Youth Parade

Linda Haglund

Linda has been involved with the Festival for over 12+ years and recently served as the 2009 Director General.  She has also served on many committees including Youth Parade, Grand Parade, Merchandise and Awards & Banners, just to name a few.  Linda is the Executive Director for the Wenatchee Downtown Association.   Linda serves on the Convention & Visitor Center Board and the Art on the Avenues Board.

Alex Haley - Blossoms & Brews

Alex chaired the 1st Annual Blossoms & Brews event in 2012.  The event was a huge success!  He has a BA in Marketing & Business Administration from Western Washington University and a Craft Beer Trade Certificate from Central Washington University.  Alex is the Manager of Pybus Market and also puts on the Apple Blossom Comedy Festival in April.

kristen holmberg - 1st year royalty chaperone

Kristen is very excited to join the Apple Blossom Festival Family as a Royalty Chaperone.  Kristen and her husband, Erik, own Holmberg Dentistry and they are a co-sponsor of the Congeniality Award given out at Pageant each year.  She and Erik have 4 children and live in Wenatchee.

Pat Lynn - Visiting Royalty

Pat LynnPat's involvement with the Festival began in 1996 when her daughter Allison was Princess. In 1999 she served as 1st Year Chaperone and then 2nd Year Chaperone in 2000.  She was also the Junior Royalty Chaperone in 2001 and served 2 years on the Board from 2004 - 2006.  Pat is very actively involved in her church but spends most of her time doing what she loves...being a Grandma.

Pat mcdonald - float decor & design

Pat was Director General for the 2014 Festival, "Livin' the Dream".  She and her husband, Jim, own Inside Design Carpet One.  Pat & Jim have been members of the Wenatchee  Applarians since 2007 and Pat was a Royalty Chaperone in 2005 & 2006.  They have 2 children and 4 grandchildren and live in East Wenatchee.  Their daughter, Siobahn, was a Top 10 Candidate in 1997.

Malcolm McLellan - Legal Consultant

Malcom McLellanMalcolm has been an Apple Blossom volunteer since 1998, serving as the Festival's Legal Consultant, and serving on the Festival's Board of Directors from 1998 through 2000. Malcolm earned a BA in Economics from the University of Washington and his law degree, cum laude, from Gonzaga University. Malcolm is a member of the Van Ness Feldman law firm in Seattle, Washington; previously, he was a partner with the Davis, Arneil law firm in Wenatchee. He has considerable experience representing non-profit corporations, and representing clients in the areas of energy, commercial and fisheries law.

Amy Moubray - Entertainment

Amy GensingerAmy has been volunteering for the Festival since 2008.  She is the Entertainment Chairperson and has also worked on the Youth Parade, Grand Parade, Prime Seating, and Auction committees as well as other Festival week activities.  Amy has a BA in Communications and a Marketing minor from WSU.  She is also a very active member of the Wenatchee Central Lions Club, Easmont Foundation and the WSU Atheletic Foundation.  Amy works in the Mortgage Dept. at Cashmere Valley Bank and in her spare time enjoys reading, spending time with family & friends and has recently found a new passion for golf.

Jeff Neher - Art Print

Jeff NeherJeff is an owner in Cordell, Neher & Company, PLLC and in CNC Financial Group, LLC, where he is the Managing Principal of both entities. He was the Festival Director General in 2001 and has been involved in the festival for many years beginning first with the Youth Parade, then with the Royalty Selection Pageant and Tabulation (since 1980). Jeff is also very active in the Wenatchee Central Lions Club.

Roger Pollock - Golf Tournament

Roger PollockRoger is retired from the State of Washington Juvenile Rehabilitation where he was the Group Home Administrator for 32 years. Roger has been involved with the Festival since 1971 when he served as the chairman of the Pre-Parade. He has been a member of the Grand Parade Starting crew and appointed an Official Starter in 1984 until present! Roger has also been a board member several times; and served as the Youth Parade Chairman for 25 years, retiring from that duty in 1999, just in time to serve as the Festival Director General in 2000!  Roger and his wife, Sandy have three daughters and eightgrandchildren and live in Wenatchee.  Their daughter Renee was Princess in 1986 and their daughter Jill was Princess in 1991.

Shayne Rennie - Art 4 Kidz

Shayne RennieShayne is the Reading Specialist at Washington Elementary School in Wenatchee.  She received her B.A. in Elementary Education, and her Masters in Ed. as a Reading Specialist, both from Central Washington University.  Shayne has volunteered for the Festival the last 4 years as a Youth and Grand Parade Drill Team Judge.  She is also on the Auction Committee and has volunteered with the Art 4 Kidz booth.  In the past, she and the students in her class have participated in the Apple Blossom Run at the start of the parade.

Ruth Smeltzer - Junior Royalty Chaperone

Ruth Gilbert Smeltzer began her involvement with the Festival in 1971 when she was crowned Apple Blossom Princess.  She will put all that training to work as she chaperones our Jr. Royalty this year.  Ruth is retired with a Masters degree in Nursing and she is a member of the Saddlerock Evangelical Presbyterian Church.  Ruth and her husband, David, live in Wenatchee and have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

meaghan vibbert - pageant

Meaghan became involved with the Festival in 1997 when she was crowned as Apple Blossom Princess.  She is the Public Information Officer for Douglas Co. PUD.  and is a graduate of Washington State University.  Meaghan has served on numerous Festival committees including Youth Parade, Grand Parade, and Jr. Royalty Chaperone.  She is a Past President of the Wenatchee Central Lions Club and has helped backstage at Pageant for over 10 years, including being the emcee and director.  She and her husband, Todd, have two daughters and live in East Wenatchee.

Greg Wood - Float Transportation

Greg WoodGreg is in charge of Business Development and is the School Account Manager for Weinstein Beverage Company, the official Pepsi distributor of the Apple Blossom Festival.  Greg has been a member of the Wenatchee Applarians since 2006.  Greg helps deliver Pepsi products to all Festival Volunteers and enjoys every minute of it.  Greg and his wife, Ceci, have three children, Jacob, Jill, and Justine.  They enjoy golfing, camping and coaching Justine's Youth Soccer Team.

Staff

Darci christoferson - Festival Administrator

As Administrator of the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival, Darci is going on her 22nd Festival. She earned an AA from Wenatchee Valley College, and a BS in Mass Communications from Eastern Washington University. Darci was raised in the Wenatchee Valley, and the Festival has always played a part in her life. She was the Festival Queen in 1985. In addition to her many festival duties, Darci is also involved in the Wenatchee Central Lions Club and serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of NCW, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee for the City of Wenatchee, and the Eastmont Foundation.  Darci and her husband Jeff  share 8 children between them and live in Wenatchee.

Jennifer Devereaux - Administrative Assistant

Jennifer is the Administrative Assistant at the Festival. She began her involvement with Apple Blossom when she was crowned Queen in 1990. She spent 4 years in the Seattle area attending UW and dancing for the Seattle Sonics before spending a year in DisneyWorld as a singer/dancer. In 1999, Jennifer received her teaching degree from Central Washington University and taught Theatre and English at Wenatchee High School from 2000 - 2007.  She serves on the Board of Directors for the Wenatchee Central Lions Club.  Her husband, Scott, is a PE Teacher and Head Football Coach at Wenatchee High School. They live in Wenatchee and have three children, Mackenzie, Jake & Kade.

Monica Greedy - Office/Events Assistant

Monica GreedyMonica has been involved with the Apple Blossom Festival since 2006 when she was a part of the Auction Committee.  Since then, she has volunteered in many aspects of the Festival and became the Office/Events Assistant in March, 2010.  Monica has two daughters and live in Wenatchee.

Jodi Lowe - Bookkeeper

Jodi LoweJodi is working part-time as the festival bookkeeper, in addition to her position at the Cashmere School District Office.  Jodi previously worked for the festival from 1996 – 2007 as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper. She loves being a part of this amazing organization which celebrates such a wonderful community event!  Jodi, her husband Mark and their 2 daughters, Myah & Macy, live in Cashmere.
