2012 Grand Marshal...young life of Wenatchee & East Wenatchee

The Washington State Apple Blossom Festival announces that Young Life of Wenatchee & East Wenatchee is the Grand Marshal of the Keyes Fibre Youth Parade.  According to Apple Blossom Festival Director General Adele Haley:   “Young Life has been such a positive influence in our community for our youth over the years.  We felt it was fitting to honor them as this year’s Youth Parade Grand Marshal.”

For over 15 years, Young life members have been picking up and dumping garbage in Memorial Park during the entire 11-day Festival and have done so under the direction of Leaders Bill Dooley and Kyle Eberth.  They also participate in the park as a food vendor.  This has been a great fundraiser for them over the years as a way to send students to Malibu  in Canada each summer.

Information about Young Life can be found on their facebook page:  NCW Young Life – Reaching out to local youth or on their website: http://sites.younglife.org/sites/ncwYL.  The Youth Parade Grand Marshal is sponsored by Target.

Young Life leaders and members will ride in the Keyes Fibre Youth Parade on Saturday, April 28.
