JUNIOR ROYALTY PROGRAM

ALL 5TH GRADE GIRLS ARE WELCOME TO APPLY!
We want to give you a timeline and a little bit of information on the Junior Royalty Program, and hope that you find it helpful :) — as always, contact the Festival Office @ (509) 662-3616 with any questions!
January 31 - Mailers (applications) will be sent out to all fifth-grade girls attending public, private, or home school in either the Wenatchee or Eastmont School Districts (double-check with your school district that your home address is correct!)
February 22 - Junior Royalty Essays are DUE at the Festival Office (2 S. Chelan Avenue in Wenatchee, on the corner of Memorial Park, across from the Animal Hospital of Wenatchee and the newly remodeled Library). Essays must be turned in by 3 PM
The Selection Process : the Junior Royalty Judging Committee will choose a group of finalists based on the quantity and quality of essays. All decisions made by the committee will be final. The Judging Committee will be checking for grammar, spelling, originality, and that it was written by a 5th grader, etc.
March 1 - The parents of the finalists will be contacted by 1:00 PM. If you do not receive a call between these times, your daughter was not chosen as a finalist. Parents, you are welcome to contact the Festival Office but please do not contact your daughter’s school.
March 4 - The finalists will meet to write no more than 1 page on a different topic than the first essay submitted.
March 6 - If your daughter makes the Junior Royalty, parents will be contacted the morning of the announcement which is generally held at each winner’s school.
