Pageant Judging Process

Panel Interviews (Morning Judging) 30%
The 5 judges have 10 minutes as a group to spend with each participant. These questions are selected and approved by all 5 the judges and are geared towards the Candidate’s stance on current worldwide, nationwide and community events.

One-On-One Interviews (Afternoon Judging) 30%
Each judge will meet individually with each participant for 10 minutes. Each judge selects different questions to ask the Candidates to learn more about the participant’s goals and ambitions.

Pageant (Evening Judging) 40%
The judges will see the participants 3 times during the Pageant. The 1st time will be during the Opening Number, the 2nd time will be during the Prepared Speech Segment and the 3rd time will be the Impromptu Segment.

Most Original Speech Award
Sponsored by Keep It In the Valley Foundation, Cakes for College

The $1,000 Most Original Speech Award is presented to the Candidate that the judges and audience determined had the “Most Original Speech”. This award is based on creativity, originality, and delivery of the Candidate’s speech pertaining to the topic they were given.

The public’s vote counts as 45% of the vote, and the judge’s vote counts as 55% of the total vote.
